Korea Tourism Organization Manila Presents: Korea Travel Mart 2015

You know they say things get to happen when they're unplanned? Well, we just proved it right. A night before the event, we saw this promotional poster. Korea Travel Mart 2015 is an event that promotes the tourism in Korea.

This event happened last October 24 - 25, 2015 at the Glorietta Activity Center. We went there on their first day, which is a Saturday, as we have commitments on Sundays. And it's actually the best day to drop by.

I've started to like anything about South Korea due to KPop influence (I grew up liking Japan but due to their strict and limited resources, my enthusiasm decreased). Anyhow, this event is basically to encourage tourist to visit South Korea.

This event is open to anyone, no registration is needed so even passer-bys can participate. At the entrance is KTO's booth where you only have to follow their social media accounts to receive a gift (which happens to be South Korea posters).

We came quite early for the program so we get to visit the booths first. Even the booths promote the Korean Culture.

Korean delicacies such as kimbap and rice and barley wine was served to the guests. The kimbap is really good, no wonder I was not able to get my own cup. Hahaha.

One of the booths lets you wear the traditional Korean clothes. We get to try these Hanboks which comes in different colors.

Also, there was a photobooth with a snowy background. Was it Stairway to Heaven or Endless Love?

And of course, if we say South Korea, KPop comes next! Philippines KPop Convention Inc. is also there. They give out button pins when you follow their social media account.

This awesome group of guys (The Painters:Hero) performed a very entertaining performance. They paint AND dance at the same time. They also do comedic acts in between their performance. Now that's what you call talented.

Will it be a travel event if they won't showcase the best tourist attractions? Ms. Kring gave a short but very informative information of the best tourist destinations in Korea. And yes, these places is definitely on my list.

This event will not be complete without a KPop performance, right? SHINERS is a dance cover group who won several competitions and represented the Philippines overseas. They're actually the main reason why I'd like to come here as I'm a fan of SHINee, and I'd like to see groups cover their dances. Unfortunately, there's only one SHINee song they performed, most would be from other KPop groups.

At the end of the day, this became my favorite part of the event. This group is N.O.M. (No Other Man). Please be mindful as there's another group with the same acronym but with a different genre. They dance and sing perfectly at the same time. You know in KPop, that's a big deal. Unfortunately, they're not as well known as the other groups. But I agree with their fans, they're worth the recognition. Fun Fact: They do a lot of activity here in the Philippines. We should love them more!

And of course, the travel agency booths. They offer discounts and freebies if you book a flight with them during the event.

The event is really fun-filled while having a glimpse of South Korea. The urge on visiting their country is getting stronger and stronger. How about you, what are the places in South Korea are you going to visit if given a chance?
