What to Visit When in Melbourne

We were not really prepared when our office informed us that we will be sent to Australia for business meetings. We only have around 2 months to get everything prepared from accommodation to paper works, and reports. We also have lot of work should be done in advance. That means over time work and less time to prepare for our personal itinerary.

We are really fortunate (that's how we consider it, but locals told us we should have gone a different season) as it's winter. Living in a tropical country made us excited going there because we heard the temperature can go down to 0 degrees!

Even though we haven't created our personal itinerary, we sill got to enjoy the beauty of Melbourne. I have listed the top spots we visited during our stay there. Sorry for the lack of photos though,  as we can only wander around after our office hours most of the time, we don't have enough time to pose and take pictures of the places.

1. Laneways

If you love street art, you would definitely love this alley. Colorful walls will welcome you, perfect for your OOTD posts.

2. Eureka Tower

This residential building which is 88 floor high is the highest one in the south pole (based on what they said) that's open to the public. This will give you a 360 view of Melbourne. Unfortunately for us though, it was raining so we can't see the clear view of the city. If you're in for some adrenaline rush, they have some open spaces you'd love.

3. Queen Victoria Market

Buying pasalubong? This is one of the best place to look out for. They sell souvenirs such as pens, shirts, bags and more. You name it, they have it. You can also try to haggle with the vendors, but you might not need to since the price are really reasonable.

4. DFO South Wharf

Like shopping? Then you should not miss this place. Direct Factory Outlet or DFO houses a lot brands that sells in very cheap prices. It's very cheap that you'd actually regret bringing clothes and just buy them here instead.

5. Melbourne Zoo

Of course, we can't miss the zoo. It's actually big that it will take almost a day to see every animal. It actually looks like a park with a zoo in it. We were looking forward to see the kangaroo but they must be sleeping during our visit.

6. The Streets

What I love about Melbourne is that walking always feels better than taking the tram. There's a lot of things to see and discover. So make sure to wear your best walking shoes when you visit there.
